RED, or to give it its full title Retired Extremely Dangerous, might not have seen the second film hit cinemas yet but that isn’t stopping studio Summit Entertainment from putting the third film in the franchise into development. The second film, which is out here in August, sees Bruce Willis’ as retired Black Ops agent Frank Moses trying to live the quiet life with his girlfriend from the first film Sarah Ross, played by Mary-Louise Parker, until old friend Marvin, a typically eccentric John Malkovich, turns up to tell Frank there is a contract out on his head and a missing nuclear bomb they need to track down. Original RED writers Jon and Erich Hoeber have been hired to pen the third script if, as is hoped, the second film is successful at the box office. None of the original cast have signed on yet but if the second film is a success it’s only a matter of time before the negotiations begin. Check out the trailer for RED 2 below.
