Silent Youth

In 4Competitions by FilmJuice

Mario is visiting Berlin. He wanders slightly forlornly through the city. Kirill crosses his path on a corner, and Marlo soon meets him again on Warschauer Bridge. Great intimacy is immediately tangible between the two of them, but neither dares to take the first step. They meet again, walk through the city, talk but fail to connect, then finally manage to remove their armour in the privacy of Kirill’s student digs.

SILENT YOUTH is a soft and poetic film about a love that grows only in gestures and tentative approaches. It is a coming-out film without the dramatics, a Berlin portrait without in-crowd images and features two wonderful performances from its young actors Martin Bruchmann and Josef Mattes.

SILENT YOUTH is released from Peccadillo Pictures on April 27th. Order now from all good retailers.
