It’s been nothing short of a stellar year already for Lupita Nyong’o. First she bagged herself a best supporting actress Oscar for her role in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave and now she’s been cast in Star Wars VII. When JJ Abrams and LucasFilm announced the cast a few weeks ago it was hinted that the casting was not finished and it seems that has come to pass. Lupita joins the returning Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew and of course Harrison Ford as well as the likes of Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Max von Sydow and Daisy Ridley. She’s also joined by Game Of Thrones alumnus Gwendoline Christie who will soon be seen in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Nyong’o meanwhile has a busy schedule with the likes of Southpaw and Who Shot The Sheriff while lending her vocal talents to The Jungle Book. Source – LucasFilm
