From Superheroes to Dinosaurs For Ty Simpkins

Ty Simpkins, the young star of the Insidious films and who managed to more than hold his own against Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3, has been cast as a key role in Jurassic World.  He could potentially join Bryce Dallas Howard in the film which is being directed by Colin Trevorrow.  There are also rumours that New Girl star Jake Johnson, who starred in Trevorrow’s Safety Not Guaranteed, is in talks to join the cast but there is nothing concrete on that front.  Original Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg is producing the film with a script from Derek Connolly and Trevorrow.  Little is known about the story but strong rumours have suggested it will be set in a fully functional Jurassic theme park as always intended by Richard Hammond in the first movie.  Before he’s chased by dinosaurs Simpkins will next be seen in Conversations With Andy.  Source – Deadline

Alex Moss Editor

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
