St Vincent De Van Nuys adds some Watts

In News by Alex Moss Editor

Naomi Watts, last seen in her Oscar nominated role for The Impossible, has joined the already hugely impressive cast of St Vincent De Van Nuys. Ted Melfi wrote the script, which landed on the prestigious Black List a couple of years ago, and will also direct the film. The story follows Melissa McCarthy’s single mum as she lets her moody old neighbour Bill Murray look after her son. Watts is on board to play a Russian prostitute with whom Murray has a frequent ‘relationship’ with. Chris O’Dowd is also aboard the project as a Catholic priest who is not Murray’s character’s biggest fan. But of course the relationship between the old man and the young boy soon allows the two to develop and become better people. Shooting is set to start this coming July. Watts meanwhile has romantic drama Two Mothers coming out later this year as well as her portrayal as Princess Diana which is almost certain to generate award buzz. Source – Deadline
