THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

CONTINUING TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE… NOW THE HOME ENTERTAINMENT EVENT OF THE YEAR

On DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download 17th March

London, Friday 24th January 2014: Lionsgate UK are pleased to announce that the smash hit sequel THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download on Monday 17th March, 2014.

Academy-AwardTM  winner Jennifer Lawrence (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) returns as Katniss Everdeen in this action-packed, breath-taking movie. Katniss is home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) but is struggling to come to terms with what has happened and her feelings for close friend Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth).

Furthermore, the commandeering Capitol hasn’t finished with the pair yet. Winning means that they must once again leave their family and friends in District 12 to embark on a ‘Victor’s Tour’ of the other districts.  Katniss senses that a rebellion is coming and that she might have something to do with it, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow (Donald Sutherland) prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games ‘The Quarter Quell’ – a competition that draws Katniss, Peeta and other previous victors back into the arena to fight once again for their lives. But it’s the game that could change Panem forever…

Directed by Francis Lawrence (Water For Elephants, I Am Legend) and also starring Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Toby Jones, Jena Malone and introducing Sam Claflin, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is the searing second installment in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games franchise, based on the publishing phenomenon that is Suzanne Collins’ book trilogy.
