Tom Cruise No Longer The Man From U.N.C.L.E

Tom Cruise, who was last seen in Oblivion and recently confirmed for the next Mission Impossible film, clearly feels that he has enough spy-games on his plate for so will no longer be The Man From U.N.C.L.E.  It’s not the first leading man the project has lost having seen George Clooney at one point attached before dropping out due to injury, Bradley Cooper was then briefly attached before the film was put into turnaround.  Cruise has no injury just a scheduling conflict with Mission Impossible 5 which he is also producing.

The soon to be Lone Ranger Armie Hammer and A Royal Affair’s Alicia Vikander are still set to star in the film which will now be looking for a new leading man.  The film will adapt the 1960s TV show which sees an American and Russian team up for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement to battle the evil organisation known as Thrush.  Guy Ritchie is attached to direct the film from a script by Contagion writer Scott Z. Burns.  Cruise meanwhile will next be seen in All You Need Is Kill before, in theory, heading over to Van Helsing and then Mission Impossible, although it’s more than likely Mission will take priority.  Source – Deadline
