Underwear Moments

Whether it’s Daniel Craig’s smalls or Rob Lowe’s state of undress that dings your bell, Hollywood has always been happy to oblige audiences with a little harmless men in underwear voyeurism. This week Zac Efron (The Paperboy) joins the ranks of those actors who have manned-up and stripped-down … for the sake of their art. So join FilmJuice as we slink down memory lane wearing nothing but a smile and a carefully positioned thong … to celebrate ten of the Hollywood’s hottest underwear scenes.

Whether it’s Daniel
Craig’s smalls or Rob Lowe’s state of undress that dings your bell, Hollywood
has always been happy to oblige audiences with a little harmless men in
underwear voyeurism. This week Zac
Efron (The Paperboy) joins the ranks of those actors who have manned-up and
stripped-down … for the sake of their art.
So join
FilmJuice as we slink down memory lane wearing nothing but a smile and a
carefully positioned thong … to celebrate ten of the Hollywood’s hottest
underwear scenes.

Tom Cruise in Risky Business (1983)
He may seem
a bit cray … crazy now, but in the ‘80s Tom Cruise was the master of the
underwear scene and it was Risky Business that gave teenage boys everywhere the
confidence they needed to dance around in their underwear while lip-syncing to Bob Seger’s ‘‘Old Time Rock and Roll.’’
Despite the recent mauling he’s received at the hands of the press we thank Mr.
Cruise for making the collared button down, tall socks and underwear a staple
Halloween costume for years to come.

Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days
(2003)

Before
Hollywood A-Lister Matthew McConaughey stared as reporter Ward Jansen in The
Paperboy, he played adman Benjamin Barry alongside Kate Hudson in the chick flick How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. The
bathroom scene marks the pair’s first real kiss as ‘‘couple’’ as they stare
playfully into each other’s eyes, laughing sweetly as they peel off each
other’s wet clothes. Here’s hoping that he can be just as sexy as a detective.
We just can’t get enough of that sweet Texas accent y’all.

Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004)
As the most
successful Nicholas Spark novel to
be adapted for the silver screen, The Notebook is one of the great onscreen
love stories and in it we get, not one, but several glimpses of Mr Gosling in
his undies! ‘’Behind every great love is a great story.’’ Thank you Nicholas
Sparks, we couldn’t agree more.

Jude Law in The Holiday (2006)
As one of
the loveliest romantic comedies we’ve seen since the millennium The Holiday
features one of our favourite Brits as well – the absolutely adorable Jude Law.
Along with leading lady Cameron Diaz,
the duo could not be any cuter as a couple who meet during a holiday in Surrey
and quickly become entangled, despite complications in their own lives. As the
ultimate RomCom, The Holiday shows that a meaningless hook-up can develop into
something more.

Justin Timberlake in Friends
With Benefits (2011)

In an effort
to avoid the clichés portrayed in Hollywood RomComs, Dylan (Justin Timberlake)
and Jamie (Mila Kunis) put the old
adage ‘‘friends with benefits’’ to the test as they attempt to be just that in
this 2011 film. We see JT in his underwear quite a few times as the friends vow
to have casual sex without becoming emotionally attached. Complications
inevitably arise – begging the question, can you ever be just friends with
benefits?

Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) (Main Picture)
Hannah (aka
Emma Stone): ‘‘Take off your
shirt.’’
Jacob (aka
Ryan Gosling): ‘‘Why?’’
Hannah:
‘‘Will you take off your shirt?’’
Ryan Gosling
reluctantly agrees and reveals his perfectly chiselled abs for our viewing
pleasure.
Hannah:
‘‘Seriously, it’s like you’re PhotoShopped.’’

Although his
underwear is not actually revealed in this particular scene, we make an
exception for Ryan Gosling’s overall performance and encourage you to use your
imagination as to what’s underneath …

Channing Tatum in Dear John (2012)
The
expression ‘’Dear John’’ is given a whole new meaning in the Nicholas Sparks’
movie of the same name. The romance of love letters is reinvigorated when John
Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier on leave, meets Savannah (Amanda Seyfried), a college student at
home for spring holiday. After a chance meeting, the two fall in love only to
be separated when John is deployed overseas. But not before plenty of underwear
is put on display.

Channing Tatum & Matthew McConaughey in Magic
Mike (2012)

Viewers go
to see stripping on the big screen like never before in comedy Magic Mike.
‘‘Work all day. Work it all night’’ is the motto of the Tampa based dance team,
Xquisite. Although many scenes leave you laughing and even perhaps shouting
“‘Oh no they didn’t?!’’ Magic Mike provides countless scenes of countless men
in nothing but their underwear. Two of the hottest bods in Hollywood dancing
for a good two hours in their underwear?
Phew.

Zac Efron in The Lucky One (2012)
Zac Efron
shines again as he stars with Taylor
Schilling
in The Lucky One, based on the bestselling novel of the same
title. After serving three tours of duty in Iraq, U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan is
determined to find a woman from a photograph, a photograph he believes is the
reason he survived an attack on the front line. They say a picture is worth a
thousand words, but this is one film that proves the motto true.

Zac Efron in The Paperboy (2013)
The Paperboy
takes audiences to the Deep South in the 1960s, as reporter Ward Jansen
(Matthew McConaughey) returns to small town USA to investigate a case involving
a death row inmate. With the help of his younger brother Jack (Zac Efron) and
seductive death-row groupie Charlotte (Nicole
Kidman),
Ward chases the story of his life as he tries to prove an innocent
man was framed for murder. Wait for the scene of Zac and Nicole dancing. Okay
so they may be tighty-whities but why complain?

Be sure to catch The Paperboy in UK Cinemas 15
March.
