Wallace & Gromit: 30th Anniversary Edition

In DVD/Blu-ray by Paula Hammond - Features Editor

Mention animation evergreens and there will be some names that are sure to trip-off the tongue. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Wallace & Gromit. Yet while the House of Mouse and his chums have been around since the late ’20s-early 1930s, the Lancashire duo are a mere 30-years-young this year.

Fans were first introduced to the eccentric cheese-loving inventor, Wallace, and his long-suffering companion Gromit in 1989’s A Grand Day Out. Later, the duo’s creator Nick Park and scriptwriter Bob Baker (of Doctor Who fame), went on to create another three shorts: The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave  and A Matter Of Loaf And Death. All four have since become an essential part of the every Brit’s TV Christmas viewing schedule.

The Wallace & Gromit: 30th Anniversary Edition features all four of Aardman’s half-hour specials on DVD and Blu-Ray, complete with all-new sleeve artwork, audio commentaries, a playable PC game demo, invention blueprints, making of documentaries and picture galleries. Everything you need, in fact, for a grand night in.
