Samuel LoveJoining recent 4K UHD Steelbooks of Luc Besson classics The Big Blue and Subway, Joan of Arc is the celebrated French filmmaker’s epic take on the story of Jeanne d’Arc. Starring Milla Jovovich in the titular role, the film earned mixed reviews on release and underperformed at the box office – and 27 years later, audiences remain divided on the film. But fans will be delighted with the stunning 4K UHD transfer that brings the magnificent production design and period detail to life like never before. Highly recommended for Besson fans.
Synopsis
As the decades-long war between France and England continues to rage into the 15th century, a young Joan (Milla Jovovich) experiences a vision – apparently from God – encouraging her to rid France of the English. Years later she relays her vision to the French King in waiting, Charles VII (John Malkovich), who grants her an army. Joan secures massive victories until she is captured and tried for heresy.
