Following their Limited Edition Steelbook release in 2023, Paramount have reissued Halloween H20: 20 Years Later in a standard 4K UHD edition.
As we wrote at the release of the Steelbook: 20 years after John Carpenter’s iconic Halloween introduced the world to Michael Myers and redefined the slasher film, Steve Miner – director of Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3, and House – took up behind-the-camera duties on the 7th film in the series. The highest grossing Halloween until 2018’s new trilogy launcher, the tediously-titled Halloween H20: 20 Years Later is a fun entry in the Myers saga that gave us the first of arguably five “final” showdowns between Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie and the iconic masked maniac. While it’s nowhere near the quality of Carpenter’s original – or indeed the better entries of the recent Blumhouse trilogy – this is a decent, if schlocky, slasher packed with memorable moments and a great performance from Curtis.
Synopsis
In 4K Ultra HD,™ evil comes home again! Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode, still haunted by “the boogeyman” Michael Myers and the tragic events of that fateful Halloween night in 1978. Featuring Josh Hartnett, Michelle Williams, LL Cool J, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and original scream queen Janet Leigh, this fan-favourite installment in the HALLOWEEN franchise was directed by Steve Miner (FRIDAY THE 13th PART 2, LAKE PLACID).
