Samuel LoveThe latest series from one of the busiest people in entertainment, Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison is beautifully shot and fronted by two powerful lead performances from Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell – but otherwise a little tepid. Simplistic and cloying, The Madison doesn’t exactly rewrite the romantic drama rulebook, but for fans of Sheridan’s brand of rural American stories, it will provide an unchallenging distraction across its 6 gentle episodes. If nothing else, it’s always nice to see Pfeiffer and Russell do their thing.
