Diaz In, Bullock Out for Annie

Cameron Diaz, the actress last seen in Gambit and soon to be seen in Ridley Scott’s The Counsellor, has nabbed the role of Miss Hannigan in the remake of Annie.  It had been rumoured that producers Will Smith and Jay-Z were interested in Sandra Bullock for the role but it seems Diaz is in fact their girl.  The film will see Quvenzhané Wallis play as the titular orphan with Jamie Foxx set to play Benjamin Stacks, a new incarnation of the Daddy Warbucks character.  Easy A director Will Gluck is directing the movie while Jay-Z supplies the music for the cast to get down to.  Before that Diaz will be seen opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Leslie Mann for The Other Woman.  Source – The Hollywood Reporter

Alex Moss Editor

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
