Mel Gibson, not seen on screens since 2012’s How I Spent My Summer Vacation, is now officially in talks to take on villainy duties for The Expendables 3. There have been rumours circulating for quite some time that Expendables creator Sylvester Stallone wanted Gibson to complete his ‘80s collection of action men which already boasts the likes of Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Nic Cage, Chuck Norris and the recently added Steven Seagal. Quite the impressive list of names who have at some point or other been part of the Expendables franchise with Milla Jovovich and Jackie Chan also set to appear in the third film in the franchise. The film will be directed by Red Hill director Patrick Hughes. Gibson will play the big villain of the piece if he signs on which will come as no shock to his system as he’s soon to be seen as the villain in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills.
