Michelle MacLaren To Direct Wonder Woman

With Wonder Woman set to make a much anticipated appearance in Batman Vs. Superman DC and Warners rightly thought it was about time the Amazonian Princess known as Diana Prince needed a stand-alone film, and potential franchise, all of her own.  And now comes news that Breaking Bad veteran director Michelle MacLaren will direct the solo Wonder Woman.

Gal Gadot (main picture) is all set to play Wonder Woman in both Batman Vs. Superman and the solo outing in what could be an origin story.  With news that Marvel are embarking upon a Captain Marvel project it seems for the cries for a female led super hero franchise have finally come true.  What is more it’s refreshing to see a female director such as Michelle MacLaren brought in to direct the film.

Michelle MacLaren produced and directed many episodes of Breaking Bad and also has form in big name shows such as Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead and the excellent The Leftovers.  Wonder Woman is scheduled for release in June 2017.  Source – The Hollywood Reporter

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
