Mikkelsen Finds Salvation

Mads Mikkelsen, last seen in The Hunt and currently playing Hannibal Lecter in the TV show Hannibal, has signed on to star opposite his Casino Royale co-star Eva Green in The Salvation.  The film, adapted from Nordic tales, will see Mikkelsen as John, a settler whose family are murdered.  He takes revenge by killing the man responsible but this sets of a chain of violence as a local gang leader brings revenge on John and his whole town.  The film already boasts the likes of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jonathan Pryce, Douglas Henshall and Eric Cantona.  Kristian Levring is directing the film which has already started production in Johannesburg.  Mikkelsen will be seen later this year in Western kidnap thriller The Stolen.  Source – The Hollywood Reporter

Alex Moss Editor

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
