Robert Downey Jnr. Will Return As Iron Man

Robert Downey Jnr.’s Iron Man contract expired after the latest Tony Stark instalment in the Marvel universe with Iron Man 3.  While that film has now become the fifth biggest grossing film of all time, behind Avatar, Titanic, Avengers and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, there had been concerns that it would be the final time we saw Downey Jnr. don the red suit.  But Marvel has now revealed that the man who has become synonymous with the Marvel brand and success will indeed return for Avengers 2 and 3.  Downey Jnr. had hinted that it might be time to throw in the iron towel but it seems that negotiations have convinced him otherwise.  It will come as a huge relief to fans but none more so than Avengers director Joss Whedon who recently stated that Downey Jnr. “is Iron Man”.  Before he gears up for Avengers 2’s May 2015 release date Downey Jnr. will appear in The Judge and Chef for his original Iron Man director Jon Favreau.  Source – Marvel.com via Twitter

Alex Moss Editor

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
