Tom Hardy To Play Elton John In Rocketman

Last seen as man-mountain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, Tom Hardy has now officially been confirmed to play Sir Elton John in the biopic Rocketman.  Elton John will also head back into the recording studio to re-record many of his famous numbers to keep in time with the emotional beats of the film which is said to be a “larger-than-life movie musical spectacle that tells the story of a child prodigy turned music legend.”  The film will be directed by Michael Gracey who has also recently been announced as director of The Greatest Showman On Earth with Hugh Jackman, and will be written by War Horse’s Lee Hall.  Before he gets his Crocodile Rock on Hardy will next be seen in Locke, Animal Rescue, book adaptation Child 44 and, finally, Mad Max: Fury Road.  Source – Rocket Pictures

Alex Moss Editor

Alex Moss’ obsession with film began the moment he witnessed the Alien burst forth from John Hurt’s stomach. It was perhaps ill-advised to witness this aged 6 but much like the beast within Hurt, he became infected by a parasite called ‘Movies’. Rarely away from his computer or a big screen, as he muses on Cinematic Deities, Alex is “more machine now than man. His mind is twisted and evil”. Email: alex.moss@filmjuice.com
